Dearest Phoebe,
Daddy has promised to write an entry on how August 09 was a significant month for us and especially you. However mummy just thought of giving a 'snapshot of it' after receiving a text from your ex-chinese teacher in your previous childcare. She told mummy every morning when taking attendance, she would ask the children who is not in class today. The kids would reply its you. Even though she has corrected them that you have moved on to another school, the children would still reply "靖恩没来“
By the way, you told your teachers in the new school that you miss your teachers and friends in character montessori too. Never knew at your age, all these relationships that you formed would have such lasting impressions.
Here are some photos of you taken at your previous childcare centre. See how much you have grown in just one year.
Luv you,
Mummy

Say Cheese!
Dearest Phoebe,
Mummy is quite an idiot when it comes to computer softwares and has never dabbled with photoshop. So this is my first time trying out Picasa which turned out pretty cool. But credit should go to the little model who put on her best smile ever.
p/s: These photos were taken a few days after you recovered from your chicken pox. Talk about detox :-)
HFMD scare
Dearest Phoebe,
We were happily seated at the bus-stop one late Saturday morning waiting for the bus when you told Mummy you had two blisters on your hand and foot. Immediately, we brought you to the GP and the latter diagnosed it as Hand Foot Mouth Disease (HFMD).
Mummy felt rather sad as you just recovered not too long ago from flu and cough and now HFMD. However the next day, we discovered more and more blisters besides those on your foot and hands. There were blisters on your head, back and face. Hence you brought you to a PD for a second opinion and found out you had chicken pox!
It was a very very painful experience that you had to go through as your chicken pox was a full-blown one. I remember there was once when you woke up in the middle of the night and crying your lungs out for nearly half an hour as you complained of blisters in your gums. Daddy and Mummy were really helpless. So now mummy strongly encourages mummies out there who have not given chicken pox jabs to their kids to go for it. I dont think any kid out there should go through this. For this, Mummy is really sorry for procrastinating when it comes to chicken pox jab, leaving you a couple of scars on your face.
Luv you always,
Mummy
Phoebe turns 3 - It's Party Time!
Dearest Phoebe,
We celebrated your third birthday at your childcare centre on 16 July, two days earlier than your actual birthday. That morning, you happily put on the 'Little Miss Curious' t-shirt, courtesy of Auntie Michelle. You love the t-shirt a lot partly because you are now a fervent collector of Little Miss and Mr Men series including their books and keychains.
We dropped you off in school and Daddy and Mummy happily went off for our breakfast not realising the school party started earlier than we thought. Nonetheless, when we reached the school, you were comfortably seated for the party proceedings. When asked by your form teacher what you can do at three years old, you proudly told her you could sing and even sang the Thomas and Friends theme song to the class, albeit a little soft.
After the celebration which we were sure you had fun, we did not bring you out for any family celebration. Instead we brought you to Gleneagles Hospital to visit Ah Ma who just had a knee implant operation. Mummy felt it would be more meaningful to bring a smile on the face of your loved ones than anything else on this occasion. True enough, Ah Ma who took care of you since you were a baby, was pleasantly surprised to see you and you sat closely to her on her bed. It was a heartwarming sight. When you are old enough to read this entry on your own, Mummy hopes you learn to be reciprocal to those who have cared for you, especially your elders.
Luv you,
Mummy.
p/s: Your birthday cake was being dugged two holes by your classmate Enoch. Though furious, Mummy taught you the concept of being forgiving and well, everyone just want to have some fun, though not at the expense of others :-)

Alphabets Rescue
Dearest Phoebe,
'Alphabets Rescue' is actually the title of the book that you read the other day. Mummy thought it was quite well-read by you and hope you will continue to show an interest in reading. Keep up the good work darling.
Luv,
Mummy

A Different Side of Her We Never Knew...
Today was the second (probably last) Meet-The-Parent Session at your childcare centre since the last one we had six months ago. We met up with your form teacher, Miss Lee who only took over your class early this year. Some observations that Miss Lee made about you really surprised Mummy and Dad. She mentioned that in class, you have been able to show a lot of emotional support to some of your little friends and have been encouraging towards them. You played very well with them, not just with friends in your class but those who are not too. At times, when the kids were not attentive, you would "assist" the teacher by telling them to do so. And you were very polite not just to teachers but friends too. Last but not least, she said you have been very popular among your peers and some parents had even asked her "who is Phoebe Wong?" Hahaha.
Why we found those kinds words from Miss Lee surprising was because being the only child, you tend to be very demanding, and at times, self-centred. Especially at Ah Ma's place, you tend to get away with your tantrums and both Ah Gong and Ah Ma would give in to you. Having said that, Daddy and Mummy do quietly observed that your behaviour have somewhat changed a little over the past few weeks; you can manage your emotions far better than before and mindful of people around you and their feelings.
In terms of intellectual development, Miss Lee commented that you are rather advanced for your age as you are already familiar with the concepts that she taught. But what was heartening to hear is that yo no longer showed signs of being bored in class as compared to last year. You still participated and was "consistently good" regardless of your mood :-)
Your form teacher made the same comment about Mummy and Daddy as what your chinese teacher had said last year. She too, could see that Mummy and Daddy put in lots of effort in nurturing you. Well, we do hope our love and efforts spent in nurturing you would give you strength in character and allow you to excel in whatever you pursue.
As for being the last Meet-the-Parent Session, Mummy is moving you to another school by the end of the year as we are moving to a new home soon. As much as we are excited about the new place, Mummy is rather reluctant to change the school for you given that you have made many friends and familiarise with your current childcare. Nonetheless, we are certain that you will be brave and confident enough to adjust to a new environment very quickly.
Lots of love from Mummy.
